Ghale Gaon Village Trek (9 Days)

Ghale Gaun placed at the base of Lamjung Himal in the north of central Nepal, is an exotic pristine village endowed with an unparallel picturesque magnificence and a home to world famous Gurkha soldiers- the Gurungs. Repository of a unique ethnic culture Ghale Gaun is a true microcosm of stunning natural beauty mixed with an unspoiled ethnic lifestyle. Ghanpokhara is a beautiful village heading towards development with a concept of eco-tourism. It lies at north of Lamjung district in the close proximity of Ghale Gaun at the top of Dashthar Danda at an altitude of 2100 meters.

Ghale Gaun and Ghanpokhara are mainly Gurung settlements; they nestle amidst mountains, rivers, streams, waterfalls and green forests. These places command a superb breathtaking view of majestic western Himalayas including Machhapuchhare(6693m) Annapurna (8091m), Annapurna II (7939m) Annapurna IV (7525m), Lamjung Himal, Buddha Himal(6974m), Himchuli (6747m) and many more smaller peaks.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel

Detail Itinerary

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel
You will be welcomed by the boss of  our company at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1300m). After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our company display board at the arrival gate. You will be transferred to Hotel. After check in, you will visit our office; meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Later in the evening we will organize a “Welcome Dinner” at an excellent tourist Restaurant where you will enjoy with a fine meal. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02:  Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Full day of sightseeing in the very famous capital, Kathmandu. We will be visiting of the famous heritage sites in Kathmandu Nepal.

Morning, we will start from your hotel by a morning walk in the blocked alleyways of Kathmandu. Your first contact with the smiling Nepalese people.We begins to cross the nice area of Thamel, full of nice shops, bars and restaurants.

We will see during this walk many temples and stupas: it will be for you the beginning of religious lessons, making the difference between Buddhists stupas and Hindu temples. You will discover with a great surprise how these two religions live together.

We will make a stop at Thahiti Tole, then in front of Kathesimbhu stupa. Always meeting statues and local shops (suits, spices, incenses, and so on) and listening the noise of bells (and of horns), we will see Asan Tole with wonderful Hindu temples.

Then Indra Chowk and Pyaphal Tole.

After 2 hours of walk and of wonder, we will arrive at Durbar Square.

All the most important monuments of the city are in this area. You will be filled with wonder by all these numerous such majestic and so ancient temples registered in the Heritage of the UNESCO. It is possible to spend hours, sat on the walk of one of these monuments, admiring architecture, considering the animation of places, dreaming.

We will take lunch at Durbar Square in the top of a restaurant, with a great plunging view.

Afternoon, you will begin the afternoon by another walk in the streets of Kathmandu, to look at the real face of this city, with local buildings and narrow streets.Then we will arrive at Swayambunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). It is said that Swayambunath Stupa is more than 2,000 years old, and it symbolizes knowledge. At the summit of this hill, the painted eyes on all four sides symbolize the all-seeing power of Buddha. It is an important Buddhist place where pilgrims from all over the world come.

                From this place we can have a wonderful panoramic view on all the capital. So great at the end of the day, with the sunset. We will come back hotel by bus. Evening: Time for you to prepare the trek and we introduce in front of you our crew members. Dinner at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara

This day early morning drive to Pokhara (823m): it takes six hours by tourist bus. Lunch at on the way,Pokhara offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara is numerous lakes, known as ‘Tal’ in Nepali. After Check in Hotel and taking rest for some time and proceed for sightseeing tour of Pokhara city including with Barahi temple with one hour boating on Phewa lake.

Day 04: Pokhara to Nangidhar (1900m)

After a very exciting 3 hour drive in the rough roads, we will reach Thumsikot. Thumsikot is about 3 hours drive from Pokhara.The drive is a very exciting drive, the rough roads, the awesome beauties, Lunch at Thumsikot.the flora and fauna that one gets to see is simply awesome. One can also enjoy the beautiful Begnas lakes and other seven lakes of the region. After the initial easy trek, it now will be a tough ascend for Nangidhar and Pakhrikot; beautiful Gurung villages lying at an altitude of 1900 meters. It takes three hours walk.You can see the beautiful cultures and the lifestyles of the Serga.

Day 05: Nangidhar to Pasagaun (1650m)

 The trek starts with several hours straight walk and the trekking routes passed through jungles, beautiful waterfalls and the chirpings of the birds, then after it is a straight descend for another 2 hours for a place called Bagaicha, Lunch at Bagaicha. After lunch continuously working to Pasagaun village. This village is much more cleanly compared to the Nangidhar, there is the food is good and the beds were much more comfortable.

Day 06: Pasagaun to Ghalegaun (1800)

 The longest day of the trekking, it starts with a descending for about 3 hours and again ascended for another 2 and ½ hours. One can stop for Bhujung, Lunch at Bhujung (1960m). Bhujung, a compact and a densely populated village looks really attractive from little down and on its way to the village. After Bhujung it is a straight walk to Ghalegaun Ghanpokhara for about 2 and ½ hours. This beautiful Gurung village, lying at an altitude of 2016m and 2050 respectively is simply awesome. One can enjoy the majestic mountain ranges from this place; the early morning sunrise is simply spectacular.

Day 07: Ghalegaun (1800m) to Khudi (790m)

The day’s trek is simply downhill. One has to continuously down trek for almost four hours before one can stop, Lunch at Khudi. The trail passes through the beautiful forest, if you are lucky enough you will also get to see some of the wildlife’s. This area holds a tremendous potentiality for bird watching. It really can be a birdwatcher’s paradise. This day afternoon we drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 08:  Drive back to Kathmandu and shopping 
Morning-After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu. It consumes seven hours to be there. Lunch at on the way. Afternoon-Time for your shopping, and to prepare for your next day departure. We serve with“farewell dinner” for the last time in Nepal. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 09: Departure your home destination

You are saying good bye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. You will be transferred to the Airport before 2 hours of flight with nice farewell. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Treks in Lodges and meals with Hotel Standard While the trek in full board. Accommodation and meals in Lodges ( local food  good quality, meals will be proposed by the guide). All transport (Return to the scene of the trek and during the trek ).
