Pokhara Valley Trek (13 Days)

Ideally placed at the foot of the chain of Annapurna, the city of Pokhara is situated 200 km west of Kathmandu. It is the largest city in central Nepal. Because of its lower altitude compared to Kathmandu, Pokhara is experiencing a higher temperature compared to the capital. The monsoon season starts from mid June until September. However, Pokhara records the highest rainfall in the country. From the climatic point of view, Pokhara is enjoyable all year round but if you want to hike, it is best to visit Pokhara from the month of October until April.
It is also easy to reach Pokhara from Kathmandu. There are several options: by air or by road. By bus it takes only 7:00 and by air, Pokhara you can reach in 30 minutes.
Pokhara has become an important tourist center in Nepal. It is now the most visited tourist destination in Nepal. Pokhara is famous for the magnificent view of Central Himalayas, the Annapurna, the Machhapuchhare, Manaslu, Fewa Tal, Mahendra cave, Bat Cave, the cave Gupteshwor and many other attractions.
The city of Pokhara therefore offers a combination between nature and culture. Pokhara is also known as point of departure and arrival for the famous trek of Annapurna and Jomsom trek. Pokhara is the land of farmers who work intensely and his warriors are known worldwide as a Gurkha soldiers.
The people living here are mostly of ethnic Magar and Gurung.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel

You will be welcomed by the boss of company at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu.After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our company display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check in, you will visit our office; meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Later in the evening we will organize a “Welcome Dinner” at an excellent tourist restaurant, where you will enjoy with a fine meal.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing.

Full day of sightseeing in the very famous capital, Kathmandu.

We will be visiting 2 of the famous heritage sites in Kathmandu.

Morning,We will start from your hotel by a morning walk in the blocked alleyways of Kathmandu. Your first contact with the smiling Nepalese people.

We begin to cross the nice area of Thamel, full of nice shops, bars and restaurants.

We will see during this walk many temples and stupas: it will be for you the beginning of religious lessons, making the difference between Buddhists stupas and Hindu temples. You will discover with a great surprise how these two religions live together.

We will make a stop at Thahiti Tole, then in front of Kathesimbhu stupa. Always meeting statues and local shops (suits, spices, incenses, and so on) and listening the noise of bells (and of horns), we will see Asan Tole with wonderful Hindu temples. Then Indra Chowk and Pyaphal Tole. After 2 hours of walk and of wonder, we will arrive at Durbar Square. All the most important monuments of the city are in this area. You will be filled with wonder by all these numerous such majestic and so ancient temples registered in the Heritage of the UNESCO. It is possible to spend hours, sat on the walk of one of these monuments, admiring architecture, considering the animation of places, dreaming.

We will take lunch at the top of a restaurant, with a great plunging view.

Afternoon, you will begin the afternoon by another walk in the streets of Kathmandu, to look at the real face of this city, with local buildings and narrow streets. Then we will arrive at Swayambunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). It is said that Swayambunath Stupa is more than 2,000 years old, and it symbolizes knowledge. At the summit of this hill, the painted eyes on all four sides symbolize the all-seeing power of Buddha. It is an important Buddhist place where pilgrims from all over the world come. From this place we can have a wonderful panoramic view on all the capital. So great at the end of the day, with the sunset. We will come back hotel by bus.

Evening: Time for you to prepare the trek and we introduce in front of you our crew members.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara.

This day early morning drive to Pokhara (823m):30 it takes six hours by tourist bus. Pokhara offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara is numerous lakes, known as ‘Tal’ in Nepali. After Check in Hotel and taking rest for some time and proceed for sightseeing tour of Pokhara city including Devi’s fall, Gupteshwore Mahadev cave, Seti River, Bindhyabasani temple and Barahi temple with one hour boating on Phewa lake.

Day 04: Departure from Pokhara to Thado Khola

Local bus to reach the starting point for this circuit. Our trek begins with 5:00 of walk to reach the small village of Bhumdi (1550m), populated by people from ethnic Gurung. We can already see the beautiful views of the Annapurna, the Himchuli, Manaslu, and Machhapuchhare.

Day 05: Departure for Panchase (2150m)

Through forests of rhododendrons, and overlooking the 6:30-long walk the Pokhara Valley with Lake Fewa, the village of Kusmi.

Day 06: Exploring Day Panchase

An early morning sunrise to climb the hill Panchase Hill (2550m) to admire a majestic view of Annapurna South, Annapurna I and II Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare. Then hike to reach Chitre after 5:00 walk.

Day 07: Departure for Birethanti

This day after breakfast trek start from Panchase to Birethati (1025m). It takes four hours walk. During walk time we will see the beautiful Ethnic Gurung village.

Day 08: Departure for Ghandrung

After breakfast our trek starts from Birethati to Ghandrung (2000m). It takes five hours walk. There is the village’s largest ethnic Gurung. They are fierce and famous warriors who formed the legendary Gorkha battalions of soldiers.

Day 09: Departure for Tolka

This morning having a breakfast after trek start from Ghandrung to Tolka (1400m). it takes fours walk. During this walk time we will have chance to see wonderful village of Landrung.

Day10: Departure for Phedi and back to Pokhara

After breakfast our trek start from Tolka to Phedi. It takes fours walk. This day exploring the Dhampus Village. Then back to Pokhara by local bus. It takes one hour’s drive. Overnight at Hotel.

Day11:  Flight to Kathmandu, Sightseeing and Shopping

This day early morning flight to Kathmandu (823m): Be sure to catch right side of the airplane for the best views of Himalayas. It takes 30 minuts flight. We arrive at Kathmandu airport, transfer to Hotel and rest for some times then our Guide take you to visit Pashupatinath; this temple lies in world heritage sites, which is very famous among Hindu all over the world. One can view the ritually burning of death body in Hindu culture. After Pashupatinath, we will walk for another world heritage site. The name is Boudhanath. During this walkway we can see deferent lifestyle and developing city.30 minutes after finally we arrived Boudhanath. Boudhanath: This is also another world heritage sites in Kathmandu, Where one can see the Tibetan settlement and their culture, It is being home for thousands of Tibetan refugees. Millions of Buddhist people visit this place every year.

 Lunch at Boudhanath with view of Boudha Stupa, you will be gaze by the Buddha eyes all the time. You will have heavenly environment.

Afternoon, its quiet relaxable time for you before your last destination. so, it  is  time for your shopping  different souvenirs for your family and friends in Boudhanath, come back in Thamel and you can visit other  local market too.

Evening, we will provide “farewell dinner” with our crew members.

 Overnight stay at Kathmandu hotel.

Day 12:  Departure for Your Home Destination

You are saying good bye to the mountains as your journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos.  You will be transferred to the Airport before 2 hours of flight with nice farewell. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Note: All participants must submit a copy of their insurance, with address, phone and fax from the insurance company. This insurance must cover the helicopter rescue in case of accident or illness. In the event that your insurance does not cover the helicopter rescue, you must complete a form to Kathmandu and sign an agreement stating that you pay yourself the amount of expenses incurred by Nepal Treks Assemble your helicopter rescue or fees of research. Without this agreement, you may not participate in this trek.

During the duration of the trek, the guide is allowed to change the route depending on weather, climate and the physical condition of participants. Each participant who stop his trek or make changes to the program may not claim any compensation money to the agency.
